On Thursday, the Pac-12 Network will launch its partnership with Twitter, with nine events expected to stream live on the social media site within the next month.
Kicking off the first event will be a soccer match between the Oregon Ducks and Colorado Buffaloes.
In addition to women’s soccer, fans can also look forward to women’s volleyball, ice hockey and men’s swimming & diving as the other sports that will help jumpstart this partnership over the next month. In total, there will be at least 150 games broadcasted on Twitter over the course of the 2016-17 year.
With the Twitter live stream gaining in popularity, conferences and leagues are continually working to meet the demands of the fans. In a time where viewers consume sports on phones, iPads and laptops, the Pac-12 Network wanted to be able to provide this opportunity to fans.
Now, fans all over the world will be able to tune in to the Pac-12 action, regardless of the cable package they have at home. Ultimately, it will also help bring the Pac-12 an extra layer of exposure that they have not had in the past.
