Since the first running in 1977, The San Francisco Marathon has grown to become one of the city’s most iconic summer events. As it approaches its 40th anniversary, The San Francisco Marathon is expected to have more than 27,000 participants making history on July 23rd, 2017.
In celebration of this historic race, thousands of past racers are are returning for the 40th Anniversary and completing 40 miles in a “40 for 40 Challenge.” To help cheer on all 27,000 runners, the PIVOT team will be on-site on race day at the VIP Party on the Embarcadero in San Francisco Bay – reach out to us if you’re interested in joining to learn more about partnering your brand with the marathon.
Heralded as having “the best views, period” by ESPN, the race course covers the most emblematic sights of San Francisco. But, runners don’t just come for the city tour, the race is an important qualifier for those headed toward the Boston Marathon, or the Olympic Team Trials.
With four race distances: full marathon, half marathon, 5K and ultra marathon (an impressive 52.4 mile urban ultra), The San Francisco Marathon events bring athletes and runners from all walks of life together to celebrate the enduring human spirit with a pinnacle race day experience.
An important element of the race is the ambiance and excitement created by the Race Expo, Course Entertainment and Cheer Stations. PIVOT’s goal is to continue adding to the event’s atmosphere by developing strategic partnerships that will awe and engage participants.
