Account Executive, Property Sales (Tennis)

Business Development Sponsorship Tennis

PIVOT is a Bay Area sports and entertainment agency making a name for itself in a fast-paced and dynamic industry. Our mission is to create innovative business-to-business opportunities and to unite brands and properties in lasting partnerships that channel the emotional energy of sports into profitable and meaningful consumer engagement. 

We are looking for a qualified and self-motivated individual to join our Property Sales Team as an Account Executive, Business Development.  The candidate will be a leading member of PIVOT’s Property Team, working with arenas, teams and athletes to source, negotiate and secure sponsorship agreements. This individual will be working closely with our growing group of Tennis properties, including World TeamTennis, USTA, Andre Agassi & Steffi Graf, and more.   This person will have experience closing six and seven figure partnerships and be responsible for identifying new opportunities that drive significant revenue for our clients. 

Responsibilities

  • Drive new business sponsorship sales for a growing list of PIVOT property tennis clients, including World TeamTennis, USTA, Andre Agassi & Steffi Graf, Professional Pickleball Assoc., and more
  • Leverage existing tennis industry relationships to drive incremental revenue opportunities on behalf of PIVOT clients
  • Cross-sell clients across multiple PIVOT services – property, brand, hospitality, etc.
  • Work with senior sales leaders on sales presentations to perspective clients, including both in-person and phone calls
  • Develop extensive pipeline of qualified interested brands on behalf of our property tennis clients
  • Lead outbound sales efforts to effectively create and cultivate opportunities for property clients
  • Effectively manage ones own book of business, including prospecting focus, time management and sales pipeline
  • Update greater property team and executive staff on tennis industry trends, spenders, and opportunities
  • Provide regular progress reports on business development goals and new business outreach
  • Help lead ideation and strategy sessions with the Property Sales and Brand Representation teams

Director, Business Development – Property Sales

We are looking for a qualified and self-motivated individual to join our Property Sales Team as a Director, Business Development.  The candidate will be a leading member of PIVOT’s Property Team, working with arenas, teams and athletes to source, negotiate and secure sponsorship agreements. This individual will be working closely with our growing group of Bay Area and Silicon Valley properties, including the San Jose Sharks, San Jose State University, and more.   This person will have experience closing seven figure partnerships and be responsible for identifying new opportunities that drive significant revenue for our clients. 

Responsibilities

  • Drive new business sponsorship sales for a growing list of PIVOT property clients, including San Jose Sharks, San Jose State University, and additional universities/properties PIVOT represents
  • Leverage existing Bay Area and national corporate relationships to drive incremental revenue opportunities on behalf of PIVOT clients
  • Cross-sell clients across multiple PIVOT services – property (tennis, esports, etc.), brand, hospitality, etc.
  • Lead sales presentations to perspective clients, including both in-person and phone calls
  • Lead outbound sales efforts to effectively create and cultivate opportunities for property clients

Account Coordinator

  1. Providing support for external client brand business services
  2. Coordinating marketing and business services for internal Pivot Divisions
  3. Coordinating and Producing Pivot Marketing and Event initiatives
  4. Providing design, creative and graphic support for Pivot Agency Presentations

Responsibilities

Support for External Client Brand Business Services

The Account Coordinator is responsible for helping the Account Directors and VP’s on external client business which may include, but will not be limited to; creative support, activation, financials and hourly work reports, event production, research and other duties assigned by senior account leadership.

The Marketing Coordinator is a creative problem solver. He/She will be expected to support all agency activation initiatives, manage timelines, track projects, draft meeting reports, and be an agency and industry thought leader.

Responsibilities:

  • As directed by client leadership, the Account Coordinator will be sufficiently informed and personally involved in external account business, providing good service and reinforcing a solid client/agency relationship.
  • The Account Coordinator, if attending client meetings, will draft client-facing meeting reports and send them to meeting participants and appropriate parties as directed.
  • As directed, the Account Coordinator will ensure the timely development and execution of sponsorship plans, campaigns, and projects.
  • Helps EVP with billing process, maintains control over timesheets for client business and helps organize internal billing data.
  • Maintains open and complete communications of Client issues with functional leaders and corporate management.
  • Will be first-line creative director for assigned projects, and “sell-in” concepts for clients and new business prospects.

Coordinating Marketing and Business Services for Internal Pivot Divisions

The Brand Division is a center of excellence for marketing within Pivot.  To that end, our goal is to help our internal divisions with marketing functions, including, but not limited to; all external communications including pitch decks, digital and web presence, social media posts, advertisements; events executed on behalf of the divisions (such as the Pivot Summer League function for Pivot Travel); public relations and other functions as assigned by leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Under the direction of the EVP Brand, the Account Coordinator will ensure sales executives have creative and impactful meeting and presentation tools by providing creative or design work, or managing the creative process including decks, collateral, digital images, and other as appropriate.
  • Managing Events for divisions when asked to do so. Part of these responsibilities will be delegation of duties among Pivot staff.  Further, the Marketing Coordinator will help manage external creative resources by drafting project and creative briefs.
  • Executing syndicated research studies with our Scarborough/Nielsen suite of services – we will teach the eventual hire how to manage the database.

The VICE PRESIDENT- GAMING & ESPORTS is responsible for defining the vision and strategy for PIVOT esports business and partnerships. This person is an effective communicator with a clear focus on performing for our current clients and building out a vision for the future of the PIVOT esports. Our ideal candidate is business savvy and has a strong understanding of sponsorship sales as it applies to brand marketing. This person will serve as an authority on esports, providing insights to the leadership team, facilitating decision-making, and executing on opportunities to create a unified and tangible impact to the business and to the longer-term strategic goals of the Company. The qualified candidate will also be responsibility for sourcing and negotiating a range of agreements from small to large partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Lead overall strategy, development and growth of PIVOT esports
  • Serve as point of contact for current clients while identifying future esports and gaming opportunities
  • Serve as the expert on esports, leaning on deep knowledge of inner-workings and best practices from esports leagues and traditional sports leagues and reflecting emerging trends to create thoughtful growth strategies
  • Identify new near- and long-term business opportunities and potential revenue streams. Lead all aspects of the deal from prospecting and sourcing through negotiation and close
