Manager, Esports Business Development

Esports Business Development Sponsorship

PIVOT is a Bay Area sports and entertainment agency making a name for itself in a fast-paced and dynamic industry. Our mission is to create innovative business-to-business opportunities and to unite brands and properties in lasting partnerships that channel the emotional energy of sports into profitable and meaningful consumer engagement.  As early entrants into the exploding esports space, PIVOT is now looking to grow its team that help develop partnerships on behalf of our portfolio of leading esports properties.

We are looking for a qualified and self-motivated individual to join our sales team as an Esports Business Development Manager. This person must have experience working in a fast-paced environment and possess knowledge and experience within the esports industry in the areas of sales, sponsorship and marketing. Our ideal candidate is business savvy and has a strong understanding of sponsorship sales as it applies to brand marketing. This person is an effective communicator with a clear focus on an end objective and possesses the technical skills and multi-tasking capabilities to efficiently work in a start-up environment.

Responsibilities

  • Identify potential esports sponsorship opportunities for existing and potential property clients
  • Drive outbound sales efforts via daily cold outreach, including email, phone calls, and LinkedIn outreach
  • Set up calls and meetings to expose new brands to partnership opportunities on behalf of our clients
  • Lead sales presentations to prospective clients, both in person and via phone
  • Facilitate the relationship growth and ongoing communication between properties and sponsors
  • Effectively manage a self-generated book of business, including prospecting focus, time management and sales pipeline
  • Research property and brand clients with the aim of gathering statistical information to better qualify and present to potential sponsors
  • Work closely with the Business Development Team on short- and long-term projects
  • Attend industry networking conferences and host potential leads/clients at events
  • Continually educate oneself, and maintain awareness of esports industry events, publications, and announcements with the purpose of identifying meaningful trends, influential people and burgeoning brands
  • Co-lead ideation and strategy sessions with the Property Sales and Brand Representation teams
  • Use personal discretion in establishing best prospecting practices as well as scheduling prospective client meetings in and out of the office per the client’s and employee’s mutual agreement
  • Strategically prospect new potential esports partners for client portfolio based on industry deals, potential alignment, and category opportunities.
  • Manage special projects for the PIVOT executive staff as requested
  • Work with senior leadership in on-boarding and sales training of new hires
  • Set an example to more junior property sales staff on
  • Meet and exceed sales quotas outlined by senior management

 

Job Performance Evaluation

  • Ability to meet and exceed individual revenue goals on behalf of property clients
  • Daily sales activity, including new prospective client outreach, client meetings, proposals, etc.
  • Ability to communicate to senior leadership on sales outreach activity and individual revenue pipeline projections
  • Lead and update property team on on going esports developments and relevant industry news
  • Ability to act in the best interest of company objectives and collaborate with fellow team members and senior leadership
  • Ability to use sound judgment and personal discretion in representing the company’s values and objectives inside and outside of the office
  • Ability to demonstrate commitment to PIVOT and PIVOT clients

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Business, Sports Management, Marketing or other related disciplines
  • 3-5+ years employment experience in esports, sports marketing, sales, sponsorship and/or communications
  • Existing book of business and industry relationships
  • Firm grasp of available networking platforms within the sports management industry
  • Advanced negotiation skills
  • Microsoft Office and Google Suite proficiency
  • Excellent presentation, written, and oral communication skills
  • Acute attention to detail, organization and efficiency
  • Experience using MS Office and Google Suite

Inside Sales Representative, Property Sales

BA/BS in Business Sports Management Marketing

PIVOT is a Bay Area sports and entertainment marketing startup making a name for itself in a fast-paced and dynamic industry. Our mission is to create innovative business-to-business opportunities and to unite brands and properties in lasting partnerships that channel the emotional energy of sports into profitable and meaningful consumer engagement.

We are looking for a qualified and self-motivated individual to join our sales team as an Inside Sales Representative, Business Development. Our ideal candidate is business savvy, has experience working in a fast-paced environment and possess general knowledge of sales, sponsorship and marketing concepts. This person is an effective communicator with a clear focus on an end objective and possesses the technical skills and multi-tasking capabilities to efficiently work in a start-up environment. In the advertised role, the candidate will have the benefit of working closely with, and learning from, seasoned professionals who have worked with some of the most notable sports franchises in the country.

This position has been created to help provide an entry into the sports sponsorship industry for driven and passionate individuals who otherwise may not have previous experience within the industry. All Inside Sales Representatives start on a 3 month trial period, where they work closely with senior leadership to learn and further develop their business development skill set. At the conclusion of the trial period, PIVOT Senior leadership will meet with the inside sales representative to review success and growth over the first 3 months, and discuss possible next steps within PIVOT.

Required Education and Experience
