Vice President, University Partnerships

Collegiate Partnerships Naming Rights Multimedia Rights Campus Wide Partnerships

The VICE PRESIDENT- UNIVERSITY PARTNERSHIPS is responsible for defining the vision and strategy for PIVOT’s work in the university and college industry. This person is an effective communicator with a clear focus on performing for our current clients and building out a vision for the future of the PIVOT. Our ideal candidate is business savvy and has a strong understanding of sponsorship sales and the inter workings of university and collegiate partnerships. This person will serve as an authority on the university space, providing insights to the leadership team, facilitating decision-making, and executing on Naming Rights and MMR opportunities across University campuses. The qualified candidate will also be responsibility for sourcing and negotiating a range of agreements from small to large partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Lead overall strategy, development and growth of PIVOT’s work within the University and College industry
  • Serve as point of contact for current clients while identifying future campus representation opportunities
  • Serve as the internal expert on the changing dynamics of University and collegiate multimedia rights and naming rights opportunities
  • Identify new near- and long-term business opportunities and potential revenue streams. Lead all aspects of the deal from prospecting and sourcing through negotiation and close
  • Use combination of existing book of business and new business development efforts to close partnerships and drive revenue for our collegiate clients
  • Work in conjunction with the PIVOT executive team to provide strategic insight and growth opportunities
  • Use data and analytics to provide best in class insights to our clients, potential brand potentials, and sales pitches
  • Manage day to day activities of sales team while conducting weekly meetings
  • Build staff to properly manage and maximize revenue and resources for our clients
  • Work cross functionally at PIVOT to expose brands to other services available
  • Lead sales presentations to prospective clients, both in person and via phone
  • Facilitate the relationship growth and ongoing communication between properties and sponsors

Director, Gaming & Esports

Esports Gaming Business Development Sponsorship

PIVOT is a Bay Area sports and entertainment agency making a name for itself in a fast-paced and dynamic industry. Our mission is to create innovative business-to-business opportunities and to unite brands and properties in lasting partnerships that channel the emotional energy of sports into profitable and meaningful consumer engagement.  As early entrants into the exploding esports space, PIVOT is now looking to grow its team that develops partnerships on behalf of a portfolio of leading esports properties.

The DIRECTOR – GAMING & ESPORTS is responsible for being a leading member of PIVOT’s esports and gaming group. Our ideal candidate is business savvy and has a strong understanding of sponsorship sales, specifically within esports and gaming. This person will serve as an authority on esports, providing insights to the greater team, and sourcing and negotiating a range of agreements from small to large scale corporate partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Use combination of existing book of business and new business development efforts to close partnerships and drive revenue for our property clients
  • Create compelling and authentic partnership proposals leveraging client assets to properly meet and exceed brand goals
  • Be able to understand and sell across a multiple of esports and gaming clients, including organizations, teams, platforms, tournaments and influencer networks
  • Serve as point of contact for current clients while identifying future esports and gaming opportunities
  • Serve as the expert on esports, leaning on deep knowledge of inner-workings and best practices from esports leagues and traditional sports leagues and reflecting emerging trends to create thoughtful growth strategies
  • Identify new near- and long-term business opportunities and potential revenue streams. Lead all aspects of the deal from prospecting and sourcing through negotiation and close

Director, Corporate Partnerships

Business Development Sponsorship Sharks NHL

PIVOT is a Bay Area sports and entertainment agency making a name for itself in a fast-paced and dynamic industry. Our mission is to create innovative business-to-business opportunities and to unite brands and properties in lasting partnerships that channel the emotional energy of sports into profitable and meaningful consumer engagement. 

We are looking for a qualified and self-motivated individual to join our Property Sales Team as a Director, Corporate Partnerships.  The candidate will be a leading member of PIVOT’s Property Team, working with arenas, teams and athletes to source, negotiate and secure sponsorship agreements. This individual will be working closely with our growing group of Bay Area and Silicon Valley properties, including the San Jose Sharks, San Jose State University, and more.   This person will have experience closing seven figure partnerships and be responsible for identifying new opportunities that drive significant revenue for our clients. 

Responsibilities

  • Drive new business sponsorship sales for a growing list of PIVOT property clients, including San Jose Sharks, San Jose State University, and additional universities/properties PIVOT represents
  • Leverage existing Bay Area and national corporate relationships to drive incremental revenue opportunities on behalf of PIVOT clients
  • Cross-sell clients across multiple PIVOT services – property, brand, travel, hospitality, etc.
  • Lead sales presentations to perspective clients, including both in-person and phone calls
  • Lead outbound sales efforts to effectively create and cultivate opportunities for property clients
  • Effectively manage ones own book of business, including prospecting focus, time management and sales pipeline
  • Directly manage property accounts and relationships, acting as the main point of contact between PIVOT property client and the PIVOT sales team
  • Set an example and be a leader within the property sales division, specifically to the team of account executives and inside sales representatives
  • Lead all executive-level communication with potential clients
  • Provide regular progress reports on business development goals and new business outreach

Inside Sales Representative, Property Sales

Our mission is to create innovative business-to-business opportunities and to unite brands and properties in lasting partnerships that channel the emotional energy of sports into profitable and meaningful consumer engagement.

We are looking for a qualified and self-motivated individual to join our sales team as an Inside Sales Representative, Business Development. Our ideal candidate is business savvy, has experience working in a fast-paced environment and possess general knowledge of sales, sponsorship and marketing concepts. This person is an effective communicator with a clear focus on an end objective and possesses the technical skills and multi-tasking capabilities to efficiently work in a start-up environment. In the advertised role, the candidate will have the benefit of working closely with, and learning from, seasoned professionals who have worked with some of the most notable sports franchises in the country.

This position has been created to help provide an entry into the sports sponsorship industry for driven and passionate individuals who otherwise may not have previous experience within the industry. All Inside Sales Representatives start on a 3 month trial period, where they work closely with senior leadership to learn and further develop their business development skill set. At the conclusion of the trial period, PIVOT Senior leadership will meet with the inside sales representative to review success and growth over the first 3 months, and discuss possible next steps within PIVOT.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the PIVOT Sales Team in identifying potential sponsorship opportunities for existing and potential clients
  • Effectively reach out to all leads and prospects scheduled by senior leadership
  • Drive outbound sales efforts via daily cold outreach, including email, calls, and LinkedIn reach out
  • Set up calls and meetings in conjunction with senior leadership team to expose new brands to partnership opportunities on behalf of our clients
  • Help facilitate the relationship growth and ongoing communication between properties and sponsors
  • Continually educate oneself on, and maintain awareness of, relevant industry events, publications, and announcements with the purpose of identifying meaningful trends, influential people and burgeoning brands
  • Assist the PIVOT executive staff on special projects as requested
