Ben Shapiro Man of the Year

The PIVOT team had a lot to celebrate this past weekend as we concluded 10 weeks of fundraising for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), rallying behind our company’s Founder and CEO Ben Shapiro who we are proud to announce won the Man of the Year award!

Someday is today #BeatAMLTogether we raised nearly $150,000 of the $830,000 total funds for blood cancer research. Each $50,000 raised accounts for one research grant that is donated to research in the Bay Area. Ben has dedicated his research grants in honor of his father and personal hero Michael Shapiro who passed from Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) just before the campaign kicked off in March. With his efforts, research will be able to progress towards finding a cure for the disease that affects over 20,000 new patients every year and has the lowest survival rate of all blood cancers.

For Ben, the LLS is an organization that is very close to his heart and he feels “honored to be a part of the team that raised over $850,000 in just 10 weeks.” Regarding the success of his campaign, Ben shared the following thoughts: “ I think my father would be proud of my involvement. He always taught me that ‘doing good’ is just as important as ‘doing well’. I know that he would be proud of the work done and research grants funded to create a future for others with the disease.”

The work done through LLS and our team’s personal efforts do not just end with the Man of the Year award. It is important to continue finding ways to #BoxOutCancer.
